We have been basing our learning this week around Minibeasts and have really enjoyed the Hungry Caterpillar and the Bad-Tempered Ladybird stories.
We searched for Minibeasts in the garden. We found a woodlouse, a snail, lots of worms (one of which tried to escape when we tried to have a look at it) and ants. It was very interesting. We looked very closely at where we found the minibeasts and decided that they prefer dark and damp places to live.
We have also spent time in literacy making our very own Minibeast Information Books where we drew and labelled a picture of a minibeast and even wrote something we know about that minibeast. Did you know a caterpillar turns into a butterfly????
In numeracy we have been making patterns with the Hungry Caterpillar's fruit. Did you know he likes to eat the same fruit over and over again? This helps us remember repeating patterns are the same over and over again!
