Reception, Year One and Year Two had the pleasure of welcoming The Music Team to school and had lots of fun joining in.
The season changing to Autumn was a great way to explore our sense of sight and touch. We went on an Autumn walk around the school and spotted many signs of Autumn such as leaves changing colour, leaves on the ground, berries on trees, mushrooms and cobwebs. We gathered many objects to create some beautiful Autumn collages.
Reception went on their first outing to Leam Lane Library on Wednesday to receive their free Booktime packs.
Thank you to all my wonderful children and parents for all the gifts, they were very thoughtful - I had tears in my eyes many times during the day. I even had so many pressies that I couldnt fit them all in the boot of the car!
I am so proud of every single one in the class and I cant wait to see how they progress throughout the school. Well done Reception - oops I mean Year One!
I hope you all have a wonderful summer, see you all soon
Lots of love

The whole school joined in a water fight to see off the 2009/2010 academic year. And what a year it has been. Thank you to everyone who has supported the school and a big thank you to the children who have made this year so enjoyable. Have a wonderful summer!
Reception spent 2 weeks preparing for the carnival and summer fair.
There was more to it than making animal masks!
Making the animal masks was so much fun. We were able to choose the materials we needed and thought carefully about the colours we needed too. They are so life like aren't they?
So that was the carnival sorted but we needed to prepare for the summer fair. We decided to set up a bead stall. We bought thousands of beads but guess what... they were all mixed up so we had to spent ages sorting them into the colours and letters. We then started to make bracelets and keyrings to sell - we made some great repeating patterns.
We decided to sell the beads for 50p. We enjoyed exploring money and learning about the different coins.
We then needed to make posters advertising our bead stall. Make sure they are catchy, we need to win!!!
Reception really enjoyed their trip to Gateshead CLC. We were able to use the Bee-bots where are programmable 'bees'. We pressed the forward, backwards, left and right buttons to direct them around the maps. It was important to remember to press clear between giving it command if you didn't the bee-bot did everything your had programmed it to do - it was quite funny.
White Mere are taking part in a new initiative for PE lessons - Hula Hooping!!! Come and see what we can do.
Reception and Year One enjoy lots of outdoor learning. Come and see what things we have been up to this week.
To celebrate World Book Day Reception were involved with the whole school dress up day where we dressed up as a character out of our favourite book.
Come and see what fun we got up to throughout the week.
Making use of the slushy snow last week, Reception enjoyed creating some snow art. Come and see what we come up with.
Unfortunately Pancake Day fell in February half term so Reception made pancakes a week late at school.
Dawn and Dora visited us to talk about how to be safe outside in the dark and also how to be safe when we are out and about.
