Y5 and Y6 pupils have thoroughly enjoyed their Superhero topic recently. It culminated in a Cape making competition in which parents were invited to assist - as side kicks of course ! In addition, pupils had to submit a comic strip design on A3 card as part of their homework - with the winning entry to be recreated as a mural within school on a much grander scale by a local artist. Needless to say with such a prize at stake the competition was fierce !

Y6 enjoyed performing their Mexican dance at the Carnival last week - despite a few sombreros being blown away by the wind! The music was 'Hot! Hot' Hot!' as was the weather !

From football shootouts to magic boxes it couldn't be any better. Everyone's certain to be a winner when playing the Y6 games - enjoyment guaranteed ! Which game is the best ? - you decide.....

Last week the whole school entered the yearly art competition for Gateshead in Bloom. Each class painted flowers from specific months and we sent a selection off to be judged! You can see our entries in Saltwell Park this Sunday 29th March. I hope we win a trophy!!

During Art week, Y6 studied a series of landscapes from a variety of famous artists. The task was to enlarge the A4 landscapes to A3 size using a grid system. It proved to be quite difficult at first but as you can see Y6 have risen to the challenge , producing some marvellous paintings using a range of techniques.The standard of the work has been so high that Mrs Patterson has selected two paintings to be framed and displayed within her office!

This half term we are basing our learning around animals.

Making use of the slushy snow last week, Reception enjoyed creating some snow art. Come and see what we come up with.
