'Careers Week'

For the first time, our school is hosting a 'Careers Week', which will run from Monday, 15th October to Thursday, 18th October. The final event has been postponed to the week after Half-Term due to the INSET day fixed for Friday, 19th.

Please have a look at the programme, organised by our staff and the Gateshead L.A. Enterprise Education team:

The activities build on the 'Dreams' focus of the school celebrations, organised in July, 2007.

Research, published recently, shows that when children have strong career aspirations at the age of eleven, more than fifty per cent achieve them. We hope that seeds of ideas for the future are sown during our Careers Week!

Each class chose an item which would help those finding our brilliant Time Capsule find out about life in 2007 at White Mere. Here is Year Six's being added!

After making their contribution to the capsule, on behalf of Gateshead Metropolitan Borough Council, our special guests were thanked for their visit in the traditional way by two Year Five pupils.

Re-union for Ex-Pupils and Staff

The evening of Wednesday, 4th July was an occasion to remember for a large group who attended to meet fellow pupils and current and ex- teachers. We hope the displays of old photographs helped bring the past alive and re-kindle memories of school life.

Skipping Festival

Members of year 4 and year 5 trained for several weeks to take part in a skipping festival at Gateshead Leisure Centre. Along with schools from other primary schools we performed a routine which demonstrated a range of skipping skills.

Here are photographs of our group routine.
