Highly active Pupils!

Our pupils must be some of the most active in the Borough!

In the Summer Term, building on competitive events earlier in the year, teams have represented the school in the following:

Multi-skills Activities at Heworth Grange Comprehensive
'Kwik Cricket' Tournament, at Felling Cricket Club
Gateshead Primary Schools' Athletics Festival at Gateshead Stadium
The Tag-Rugby Festival at The Dryden Centre

Ben Elliott has been selected for the Felling Boys' District Football Team

Amy List, Claire McGill and Emily Hall have been selected for trials for the Gateshead District Girls' Football Team

Multi-skills event for Y5 at Heworth Grange

ATHLETICS

In February some children from Year Five went to Heworth Grange Comprehensive for an athletics event where they competed with children from other local schools.
There was a range of track and field events. The track events included a one lap sprint, a four lap run, a sprint with hurdles and a relay. The field events included speed bouncing, long jump, chest push and javelin. Although White Mere did not win some of the children won their events – Clare and Thomas won the four lap race, Nathan won the speed bounce and Thomas won the long jump. Clare, Thomas, Nathan and Cameron were also chosen to go to an athletics event at Gateshead Stadium as part of the Heworth cluster schools team.
